FTIR Detector Products
Pyreos has developed high performance uncooled single element FTIR detectors that take advantage of the inherent fast switching of our thin film pyroelectric sensor technology. Our FTIR products offer high and stable responsivity over their intended frequency range, and by careful matching of the sensor properties to the electrical properties of the discrete components of the front-end circuitry, we have designed our products so that the sensitivity ( D * ) also remains high over the intended frequency range, with only a slight tail-off towards the end of each products frequency range.
Our products have several further advantages over the most commonly used FT IR detectors. Most importantly our products are uncooled working efficiently at all ambient temperatures and offering high performance with no temperature stabilisation at all. This immediately removes cost, power consumption and bulkiness from your FTIR products without sacrificing performance. The Pyreos thin film material has a Curie point close to 600 C and ensures there is no change in performance with temperature. Byby building the sensor on a thermal membrane we provide an efficient thermal path that can cope easily with rapid changes in ambient temperature making ti ideal for hand-held applications.
The solid-state IR sensor device structure means our FTIR products provides tremendous stability, and our products are not susceptible to moisture like other commonly used detectors, which allows us to offer customer’s the choice of receiving the packaged product without a filter window to further boost signal strength, or with a focusing lens incorporated into the package to offer new levels of performance.
We currently offer two standard FTIR sensor products, but we can, at low cost, provide customised solutions. Our products combine high performance with very attractive pricing, and we believe our sensors can help make FTIR products into mass market portable analytical products, and expand the application of FTIR spectroscopy across a range of industries.
